Hidden People
In this project from 2015 handkerchiefs are illustrated with ballpoint pen and acrylic paint.
This work is about exploring the idea of adaptation and giving new life to old forgotten objects connected to italian tradition.
When a figure is drawn on a new support that already has its own meaning, similarly to when a human being or an animal is placed into a new environment, a question arises: what happens to that subject? It will communicate with the space and eventually adapt to the setting. So the figures are having different reactions to the hankies: sometimes mimicking, sometimes wanting to escape and other times dancing with the pattern.
